TITLE IX & NON-DISCRIMINATION LAWS
It is the policy of the Board of Education for the Rowan Salisbury School District that no student be excluded from, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination in any education program or activity solely on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or in employment policies and practices in accordance with Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972. Details of this policy are in the Rowan Salisbury Schools Board Policy Manual.

Title IX Coordinators, investigators, decision-makers, and those involved in any informal resolution process receive annual training on the following topics:

- Safe Schools - Title IX Compliance - All Staff, 2022-2023

All staff (responsible employees) receive training in the Vector Solutions SafeSchools Training module Title IX Compliance Overview. This course is designed to provide school staff with an overview of Title IX regulations to ensure that their school district is in compliance. Topics covered include the role of legal precedent, regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance related to Title IX; relevant terminology used in Title IX guidance; and guidelines school districts must follow to remain in compliance with the law.
This training is made up of six sections, followed by an assessment that employees have to score at least a score of 85 percent to receive credit. The sections of this module include:
