Feelings are complicated, but thanks to North Rowan Middle School Career & Technical Education (CTE) teacher Ashley Ellis, emotions are becoming a less abstract concept for students. As part of the school’s Renewal plan focusing on students’ social and emotional health, Ellis uses an outside-of-the-box approach to reach her students.

Susan Heaggans, Rowan-Salisbury Schools’ Director of Induction, has gone by many names in her adult life, including teacher, principal, mom and mentor - but one you may not expect is soldier.

Students gardening

Led by Bostian staff members and community volunteers, EPIC Tuesdays kicked off on September 14 with great excitement throughout Bostian's campus! With over 20 clubs available, students expanded their knowledge of many topics, including gardening, drumming, sports, interior design, cooking, fitness, sign language, and more!

C. T Overton’s very own JaLai Davis, a first-grader in Cynthia King’s class, won the Name the Stream Contest during Rowan Creek Week!  A ceremony was held to officially name the stream in front of Knox Middle and Overton Elementary schools, Heroes Creek, on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

5th Grade students at Knollwood Elementary School participated in their first of six Muddy Sneakers days on September 20th and October 6th, 2021.  Our 5th graders really enjoyed their first field trip since 2019.
