Mary Sloop - Part of the Community

Mary Sloop, retired librarian of 17 years, has been a part of the Mt. Ulla community for almost 45 years. Sloop gets to share her love for the school and area with her kindergarten grandson, “Beau” as she continues to serve the community.

While Sloop served Mt. Ulla Elementary School as the Librarian for 17 years before retiring, she still volunteers to help with Book Fair every year and visited most recently during the Grandparents Lunch in October with her grandson. Sloop’s second grandson, Beau shares her love of books and reading (along with all her other grandchildren), but also spends time with his “Grandan” riding tractors and developing an interest in farming and construction equipment. Sloop has lived in Mt. Ulla for 42 years, her husband, his father, and all 3 of the Sloops children attended Mt. Ulla School.
