May 14, 2019 marked the second annual Purpose Prize Ceremony hosted by South Community Schools. The idea originated from the South Community Schools' desire to recognize individuals within the community who live with purpose and make an impact on the people around them. Students and staff at each school were tasked with nominating one person who they believe lives each day with purpose. Each nominee exemplifies living with a purpose in their own way, and we want to thank them for their dedication to helping others and bettering the South Community.
The State of North Carolina passed HB 986 enabling qualifying school districts to become a renewal district. Currently only Rowan-Salisbury Schools district qualifies. On June 28th the RSS Board of Education elected to participate in this program. Click for details.
