Kristen Forgays moved to the Mt. Ulla community as a child, attended Mt. Ulla Elementary from 2nd-5th grade, and has now returned as a 2nd grade teacher in the same school where she works alongside Susan McLaughlin who was a teacher during Forgays’ time as a student. Educating local students gives her the feeling that she is part of the community family that Mt. Ulla is known for. 

Forgays said “I always loved going to school and it was here that I knew I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. I believe that stemmed from the amazing teachers I had! I still remember every teacher I had during my time at Mt. Ulla.” As an adult, after moving back to the area Forgays immediately knew it was her dream to go back and teach at the school that originally sparked her passion for teaching.
