Community shows overwhelming support for Landis Elementary Title I Family Night

The families and community of Landis Elementary School arrived by the droves on the evening of September 1, 2022, for the very first Title I Family Night of the 2022-2023 school year. This was the first Family Night and book fair combo event since the fall of 2019, and families were lined up to get in the door.

The air thrummed with excitement as Landis students and families filled the gym and library to overflowing. Title I Specialist Pauline Ross and Media Coordinator Jessica Hathcock teamed up to make it an unforgettable event. For attending Family Night and shopping the book fair, students received tickets for a gift basket drawing and other door prizes. Gift baskets included books, gift cards donated by several local small businesses, and other goodies.

September is also library card sign-up month. Stephanie Reister and Tammie Foster, representatives from Rowan Public Library South Branch, were in attendance at Family Night to help new Landis families sign up for library cards and to share upcoming events at the public library.

The evening proved to be a record-breaker with over 400 students and family members in attendance!
