Shive's annual blood drive will be March 21 in the Hive. If you are interested in donating, please contact the school or Zac McClary for more information.
Join us for a night out at Shive's Dine and Dance this Thursday from 6:00-8:00pm. The cost to attend is $5.00 and includes a spaghetti or chicken alfredo dinner. In addtion, the book fair will be open during this time. We look forward to seeing you soon!

The book fair begins January 29 and runs until February 2. The theme is "Paws for Books". Plan to shop with us throughout the week to get great books for the entire family along with other reading related items. All proceeds help our school enhance our library collection. Looking forward to seeing you there!

One word....AMAZING! Mr. Harwood and Mrs. Parsons worked with students to produce "A Charlie Brown Christmas...Live on Stage". Two performances were given. A matinee was held for the student body. An evening performance included hot cocoa and cookies for students and parents prior to the beginning of the show. Students did an outstanding job!

***Santa's Workshop will be open prior to the musical on Thursday, December 7 for your shopping pleasure***
Students will preview Santa's Workshop on Friday with doors opening for student purchases on Monday, December 11. Only students who bring money or are accompanied by an adult will visit theworkshop during normal school hours. Santa's Workshop will be open daily next week from 8:00-10:00 and 12:00-2:00.

The State of North Carolina passed HB 986 enabling qualifying school districts to become a renewal district. Currently only Rowan-Salisbury Schools district qualifies. On June 28th the RSS Board of Education elected to participate in this program. Click for details.

Today the General Assembly passed an Education Bill (H986) which would allow Rowan-Salisbury Schools the opportunity to become a Renewal School System.

Rowan County School students were offered the Go Green Challenge as a Problem Based Learning event. Winners were recognized at the April Board of Education meeting. There was a winning class for the Elementary and High School levels.

For the second consecutive year, the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education and the district are nationally recognized as a leader in the uses of technology for student success.

Go for the Gold Reading Challenge Extended until May 4.
