December Parent Coffee Hour information

Our next Parent Coffee Hour will be on Tuesday, December 8th, at 10:00 am via Zoom.  Our topic this month is Connecting Art to Learning.  All parent/guardian attendees will receive a holiday craft kit to create at home with their scholar.

OES Accepts Sporting Gifts

Livingstone College student athletes representing the sports of basketball, track and field, tennis, and football along with Athletic Trainer, Jaime Kent,  bestowed gifts from Academy Sports, good cheer, and enthusiastic greetings to Overton Elementary School's student body who were wearing masks and socially distanced on the front lawn.  Principal Marae Reid and School Counselor Rosemary Wood, also pictured, accepted the gift on behalf of the school.

OES Students and their simple machines

Overton Scholars are working on creating simple machines in STEM rotations. They are using the 5 Cs of Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Caring to make simple machines that can be used in robot designs during the next set of rotations. Scholars will be identifying an environmental problem and then creating a robot to address all or part of that issue. We are so proud of the creativity and perseverance shown by our scholars in their STEM endeavors!
