75+ attended Calendar Stakeholder Meeting

Mark Steelman

Monday May 7th the North Rowan Community gathered to consider ways in which calendar flexibility could be used to benefit the students of NRHS.  More than 75 stakeholders including teachers, parents, students, and community members analyzed the traditional, early college, and a teacher-made hybrid calendars.

The hybrid calendar presented the opportunity to start school when RCCC classes begin as well as early enough to have exams before winter break.  The hybrid schedule also aligns well with the traditional calendar holidays and breaks.

North Rowan's Ms Miller wins "Energy United" Grant!

Congratulations to Ashley Miller from North Rowan High School who received a "Bright Ideas" grant in the amount of $1,000 from EnergyUnited! This grant will help fund her project, “Math Makes the World Go 'Round” that will allow students to learn about the unit circle and trigonometry functions by building models, exploring graphs, and by making connections to what they already know. #NCBrightIdeas
