BETA Club Goes to Greensboro

Knox had 43 students attend the Jr. Beta Club Convention February 5th and 6th in Greensboro, NC. They participated in various challenges including robotics, art, subject area drills, tower of power, speech, poetry and others. Our own Mallory Link received 2nd place recognition for Language Arts. We are very proud of these Trojans!

Medical Cadet Program

Knox is excited to have begun their partnership with Novant Health.  Medical professionals have visited the school to discuss the various opportunities available in the medical field. Our hope is encourage our students to pursue a career related to health.

KMS Student Honored at BOE Meeting

Mia Mason was recognized at the September Board of Education meeting as Knox's Extraordinary Reader of the Month. Way to go Mia. We're so proud of you.

STEM Club at Knox

The STEM Club is a new program at Knox this year. Approximately 100 students meet each Monday after school to participate in the club. A group of science and math teachers from the school host the club and provide hands-on science, technology, engineering and math activities for the students.

Rowan-Salisbury Schools Pilots State Renewal Program

The State of North Carolina passed HB 986 enabling qualifying school districts to become a renewal district. Currently only Rowan-Salisbury Schools district qualifies. On June 28th the RSS Board of Education elected to participate in this program. Click for details.

Renewal School System

Today the General Assembly passed an Education Bill (H986) which would allow Rowan-Salisbury Schools the opportunity to become a Renewal School System.

Rowan County Recyclers

Rowan County School students were offered the Go Green Challenge as a Problem Based Learning event. Winners were recognized at the April Board of Education meeting. There was a winning class for the Elementary and High School levels.
