    Meet Our Community

    Welcome Ben Crawford

    Mr. Benjamin Crawford was named Principal of Jesse C. Carson High School in May 2019.  He began his career in education as an English Teacher at A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis.  Mr. Crawford then served the students of Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools for over a decade as a School Counselor and Assistant Principal.  After four successful years as the principal of nearby China Grove Middle School, Mr. Crawford is excited to return to high school.

    Welcome Diane Folk

    A former math, science and social studies teacher, Ms. Folk is our new Introduction to Engineering Design teacher.  As an engineer, Ms. Folk has many years of experience to share with our students.  Ms. Folk’s hobbies include reading, camping, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends.

    Welcome Brandon Swope

    Mr. Swope is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio where he earned degrees in Chemistry & Physics Education. He comes to Jesse C. Carson High School after teaching for four years in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.  Mr. Swope is excited to join the Carson family and contribute to the community in which he resides.

    Welcome Jon Rich

    A recent graduate from UNC Greensboro, Mr. Rich will teach English I and III this year.  He is an avid soccer fan who loves to read, cook, and travel. 

    Welcome Chris Hassard

    A college athlete at UNC Pembroke, Mr. Hassard has degrees in both Mass Communication and Management.  Mr. Hassard enjoys weight lifting and all things football.  He is excited to join JCHS as an Exceptional Children’s teacher.

    Welcome Holly Wall

    Pursuing her passion for animals and science, Ms. Wall is excited to join the JCHS family where she will teach Biology and Earth & Environmental Science. She is a recent NC State graduate who enjoys sports and spending time outdoors.
