Marvin Moore traveled to the NC Child Hunger Leaders Conference in Chapel Hill on Thursday to collaborate with other child advocates throughout the state to share ideas and resources that will serve to end child hunger in North Carolina.

The State of North Carolina passed HB 986 enabling qualifying school districts to become a renewal district. Currently only Rowan-Salisbury Schools district qualifies. On June 28th the RSS Board of Education elected to participate in this program. Click for details.
The Board of Education has approved the appointment of Stacey White as the new principal of West Rowan Middle School and Stephanie Sanders as the principal of Hanford-Dole Elementary. Congratulations and we wish you well!
Today the General Assembly passed an Education Bill (H986) which would allow Rowan-Salisbury Schools the opportunity to become a Renewal School System.
Graduates in the Rowan-Salisbury Schools were offered over $32 million in scholarships in 2018!

The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education voted to make May 16 an optional teacher workday. Students will not attend school on this day.
Rowan County School students were offered the Go Green Challenge as a Problem Based Learning event. Winners were recognized at the April Board of Education meeting. There was a winning class for the Elementary and High School levels.
