Hurricane Florence- Weather Update

**Attention Hurley Parents/Guardians**

Please note that Rowan-Salisbury Schools will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday, September 13th, and we will close on Friday, September 14th for all students and staff. All afternoon school activities are canceled for Thursday and Friday. We will continue to closely monitor conditions and should there be a change, we will let you know as soon as possible. Thank you for your support as we continue working through this weather condition.

2018 Open House

Hurley parents, save the date for open house, Aug 23, 2018 from 4-6pm!! Just a reminder, every student will need to complete the online registration for the 2018-19 school year. Beat the crowd and come in early!! Aug 14 and 15, 2018. Time: 8am-1pm and 3pm-5pm

Breakfast Basics

Join us for our final Breakfast Basics for this year on May 15th, 7:15 AM -8:00 AM. There will be information about End of Year assessments for K-2 and 3-5. Mark your calendars now! We hope to see you there!

Rowan-Salisbury Schools Pilots State Renewal Program

The State of North Carolina passed HB 986 enabling qualifying school districts to become a renewal district. Currently only Rowan-Salisbury Schools district qualifies. On June 28th the RSS Board of Education elected to participate in this program. Click for details.

Renewal School System

Today the General Assembly passed an Education Bill (H986) which would allow Rowan-Salisbury Schools the opportunity to become a Renewal School System.

Rowan County Recyclers

Rowan County School students were offered the Go Green Challenge as a Problem Based Learning event. Winners were recognized at the April Board of Education meeting. There was a winning class for the Elementary and High School levels.
