What is a Proctor?

A Proctor is a school volunteer that helps maintain test comfort and security for our students while they “show what they know” during their End of Grade Tests. 

How can I become a proctor?

Simply contact the school and visit the website to fill out a volunteer application as well as give permission for a background check at www.bit.ly/hesvolunteer . In addition, you will be contacted regarding a brief proctor training at the school.

How do I sign up to help?

Contact Taylor Downs at Hurley Elementary by calling 704-639-3038 OR by email, taylor.downs@rss.k12.nc.us OR simply return the form to your child’s teacher by May 15th

Hurley Kindergarten Registration

See the information about enrolling your child in kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. To be eligible for kindergarten, your child must turn 5 on or before August 31, 2018. To Register, You Will Need to Bring: • Certified Copy of Your Child’s Birth Certificate or other Evidence of Child’s Date of Birth • Your Child’s Updated Immunization Record • A Completed Kindergarten Health Assessment Form (Forms are available at all elementary schools and Health Departments.) • Proof of Residency (i.e.: current utility bill, property deed, or rental lease agreement)

2nd grade All-Stars performing Text Feature surgery today with newspapers and magazines. Operating room complete with lab coats and a heartbeat sound for authenticity! This is a great assessment for witnessing what students have learned about text features!
