What is Arts Education?

In today's globally competitive world, innovative thinking and creativity is essential for all students. High quality, standards-based instruction in the arts helps develop these skills and effectively engages, retains, and prepares future-ready students.

Events in the Community 2019-2020

"What class helps students solve problems, stay in school, builds confidence, and improves academic performance? It’s the arts. If you are surprised by that answer, check out all the studies that sing the praises of the arts in school.  In fact, art classes naturally help students develop the 21st Century skills they need for their future careers. Plus, our students love creating beautiful works of art."- Karen Lundgren, Lead Art Teacher

"I believe that Physical Education is an essential part of the total education of every child in Kindergarten through 12th grade. Quality physical education programs increase mental health, fitness skills,  personal responsibility, and help students develop a strong work ethic.  By teaching our students these skills, they will develop an appreciation of physical activity so that they can be physically active for a lifetime."-Allison Adams, Lead PE Teacher

"Music education at the elementary school level is a vital part of educating the whole child. Music provides the opportunity for children to be engaged in all areas of learning, but especially language and reasoning, coordination, social interaction, emotional development, and motor skill development. Our students feel successful when they participate in music learning activities and we believe this sense of achievement helps them be successful in other areas of their daily lives."- Jason Harwood, Lead Music Teacher
