In December, Abramson's Advanced Artists submitted work to be considered for the NC Zoo's Endangered Species Poster Contest. Each artist created a unique poster and slogan on a self-selected endangered species and competed at the school level to be one of five who competed at the state level. Those artists are Brooke Riggs, Mackenzie Misenheimer, Emma Walker, Zoey Foreman, and Marc Helmandollar. Brooke Riggs, 8th grader, was named the STATE-WIDE winner for the contest for her exceptional poster created for the Galapagos Fur Seal--being recognized out of ALL middle schoolers in the state as the division winner.
Brooke's art work will be professionally produced into poster size. In addition, she will receive a year-long membership to the NC Zoo, a bag of zoo goodies, and a piece of artwork painted by an animal ambassador. Congratulations, Brooke. We are proud of you!
