RSS Announced New Finance Leaders

The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education named the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and a Director of Payroll to support Rowan-Salisbury Schools (RSS).

Faith Lambeth was named CFO for the district.  She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and has served most recently as the assistant finance officer for Iredell-Statesville Schools.  She has also been a senior accountant/CPA for Ladd Robbins, P.A., and a staff accountant for Norris, Stewart & Ralston, P.A.  She obtained an Associate of Applied Science from Mitchell Community College, a Bachelor of Science in accounting, and a Master of Accountancy degrees from Gardner-Webb University.  

Kimberly Saunders was named director of payroll.  She served most recently as the payroll manager for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since 2018.  Previously, she served as payroll manager for Guilford County Schools, and in several finance roles for Davidson County Schools, including finance manager for school nutrition and payroll supervisor.  Saunders obtained a Computerized Accounting Degree from Brookstone Business College.

The Board also promoted interim CFO Pamela York to Executive Director of Finance.  York has been a longtime member of the RSS since 1999, having served as Assistant Finance Officer for 14 years and School Financial Secretary at Rockwell Elementary for eight years.  She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Catawba College.  

“We are fortunate to hire these highly qualified individuals to lead.  I am confident our finance department will be in good hands to support the vision and mission of the district,” commented Superintendent Dr. Tony B. Watlington, Sr.

West Rowan Middle School PBL Showcase

At West Rowan Middle School, students learn about Sustainability through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as the Global Goals. The SDGs were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. WRMS students focus on 11 of the 17 goals which fall under the areas of: Environment, Economy, Equality, and Wellness.
