Employee Annual Leave and Sick Leave

All full-time employees receive one day of sick leave each month. Annual Leave is detailed in the chart below and is accrued based on years of experience.

Health INsurance

Health insurance is available to Rowan-Salisbury School System employees through the State Health Plan.

New employees have 30 days to enroll in the State Health Plan. Additional changes can be made during open enrollment each October or within 30 days of a qualifying life event.

Cafeteria Benefits

Rowan-Salisbury School System Employees can purchase supplemental benefits through our insurance broker, Mark III Employee Benefits. Life insurance, dental, vision

New employees have 30 days to enroll in cafeteria benefits. Additional changes can be made during open enrollment each April, or within 30 days of a qualifying life event.

Life Insurance

All new Rowan-Salisbury employees are offered a free, Metlife basic $10,000 term life insurance policy when first hired.

RETIREMENT

All regular, full-time employees are required to become members of the North Carolina Teachers and State Employees System. Supplemental retirement plans, such as the NC 401(k) and the NC 403(b) can be obtained through the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer.

Camp Invention is one week in the summer where your child's creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills are challenged and developed in fun and exciting ways. Our top priority is to inspire future innovators and build their confidence in the natural ability to dream and create. Horizons Unlimited will be hosting Camp Invention again for two weeks (same offering both weeks) in July.
