Clubs

Unless otherwise noted, all clubs at SEMS are open to all students. To join a club, contact one of the teachers in charge.

Book Club

The SEMS social book club is an opportunity for bibliophiles (book lovers) to come together and share their love of great stories. The club will choose a book, read independently during the week, then come together each Friday afternoon to chat about the book.

When: Every Friday, 2:30 to 3:30 (no meeting on early release days)

Where: Library

Teachers: Ms. Smart and Ms. Walker

SERVing Patriots

Do you enjoy helping others? Do you want to make a difference in our school and community?

At our SErving Patriots meetings, we will discuss and participate in service projects, work on promotion and advertisements for our projects, and have an AWESOME time doing it all!

When: 2:30 - 3:30, various dates

Where: Mrs. Blackwell's Room, 602

Teachers: Mrs. DeBord, Mrs. Blackwell, Mr. Sippel, Mrs. Jones, Mr. Bradshaw

International Club

International Club promotes understanding among all cultures at Southeast Middle. We will celebrate cultural events and participate in community outreach.

When: Wednesday mornings, 7:00-7:40

Where: Room 704 (ESL room)

Newspaper

The SEMS newspaper is released once each quarter. In addition to writers, we also need people to work on layout, editing, and photography.

When: Every Thursday, 2:30 to 3:30

Art Club

When: Every Wednesday, 2:30-4:00

YCI

YCI is a student led time of playing games such as Bible Stand-off, scripture searches, powerful videos, prayer, and scripture reading. Testimonies and guest speakers come throughout the year.

When: Thursday mornings, 7:00-7:30

Where: Mr. Raindrop's classroom

Teachers: Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. Smith (7th grade), Mrs. Smith (Exploratory), Mrs. Doane

Morning News

During the morning news club, students will experience filming the news using iPads and green screen software as well as being on screen reading the news with character and flair. Students on the news will be famous in our building!

When: Every morning, 7:00-7:30

Where: Mrs. Hedrick's office

Teachers: Mrs. Hedrick & Mr. Lundgren

GREEN TEAM

The GREEN TEAM is a student club that empowers students and teachers to help the environment through waste reduction, recycling, energy conservation, and pollution prevention. Any students interested in applying for GREEN TEAM can get an application from your homeroom teacher.

When: Once a month, from 2:30-3:00

Where: Mr. Lakey's class, Room 603
