Erwin Students Awarded with Service Above Self!
Merenda Brady

Many students at Erwin Middle School were recognized with Service Above Self Awards on December 7, 2017 at a special ceremony at Catawba College’s Keppel Auditorium.

Service Above Self is a program that recognizes our students for volunteering and demonstrating the differences of selfishness and selflessness, as they become role models for not only their peers, but for all of us.

Established in 1995, by Dr. Jim Duncan, the Service Above Self Youth Awards recognizes young people for their service to others in our community. Rowan County United Way and Rowan Rotary Club, along with an anonymous donor, work together to make these awards possible.

One of our students, Jarrell Imes, won first runner up for middle schools!  Congratulations to all of our winning students for putting others before themselves!
